Debtors Controller

ABOUT THE ROLE

Satcom is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Debtors Controller to manage the company's accounts receivable function. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate maintenance of the debtors ledger, timely collection of outstanding amounts, and reconciliation of customer accounts. This is a full-time position suited to a driven finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

·      Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable (debtors) ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and up to date.

·      Process and allocate customer receipts, credit notes, and adjustments promptly and correctly.

·      Monitor outstanding balances and drive the timely collection of overdue accounts in line with company credit policy.

·      Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements and age analysis reports.

·      Perform regular debtors reconciliations and resolve queries or discrepancies with customers and internal departments.

·      Assess and manage customer credit limits, performing credit vetting on new accounts where required.

·      Prepare debtors reports, cash-flow forecasts, and bad-debt provisions for review by the CFO.

·      Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures relating to accounts receivable.

·      Support internal and external audit processes by providing supporting documentation and reconciliations.

·      Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards.

Qualifications & Experience

·      A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

·      A minimum of 2 years' prior experience in a debtors, accounts receivable, or similar accounting role.

·      Sound working knowledge of accounting principles and credit control practices.

·      Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Reporting & Employment Terms

This is a full-time, permanent position based at Satcom. The Debtors Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and works closely with the broader finance team.
