A Mechanical Draughtsman/Engineer supports the design and engineering team by preparing accurate technical drawings and models for mechanical components and assemblies. This role involves converting design concepts into detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, and assisting in documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
Junior Mechanical Engineers will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES (But not limited to):
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models using CAD software based on engineering designs and specifications.
- Interpret mechanical design requirements and translate them into accurate technical documentation.
- Revise and update drawings as required to reflect design changes or feedback from engineers.
- Ensure drawings meet company standards, ISO requirements, and customer specifications.
- Assist mechanical engineers in developing layouts and assembly drawings for new and existing products.
- Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and other supporting documentation for production.
- Collaborate with production teams to clarify design details and resolve drawing-related queries.
- Verify that drawings include correct tolerances, dimensions, and material specifications.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions for traceability.
- Stay updated on drafting techniques, CAD tools, and mechanical design principles.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Follow instructions given by HOD/MD and any other person duly authorized (or delegated) by the company to do so.
OTHER:
- Ensure Quality Management System processes are established, implemented and maintained – assisting the ISO Management Representative in this respectively.
